Hotshot Firefighter Kevin J. Woyjeck Memorial Highway
On October 13, 2016, I attended an event that was held outside the Seal Beach Fire Station No. 48. A highway memorial sign was dedicated to the memory of Kevin J. Woyjeck, a member of the Granite Mountain Hotshot Crew who was killed in the line of duty while battling a wildfire in Yarnell, Arizona on June 30, 2013. He was only 21-years-old.
The “Hotshot Firefighter Kevin J. Woyjeck Memorial Highway” sign will be installed, in both directions, on a stretch of the I-405 through Seal Beach in January, 2017.
Thank you to the men and women who continue to serve and protect your communities.
